The  Web  site  contains  important  elements  and  information   about  the  department among  which are the aims  and  the  targets  of  the  department , birth and  its  development .  the  fields  of  specialization . the  jobs of the graduates . the  syllabuses , information  about professors  and  the  academic  staff,  statistical information  about  the  students , the  teaching  staff and  its  collaborators  , about course   and  the department library ,   and  special  activities  of the  department . The  Web  Site  contains  also the up-to date  information and  news  about  the  department .

The  department  of  the  library and  information science in the University of  Alexandria  is  the second   in  Egypt  and  it  was  founded  in  the academic  year  1981-1982 . After the great development that has taken  place  in  Information technology and communication,  we  had  to follow  up this Scientific  and technological  development  whic  has  taken  place  over  the  world and  the  department  had  to  have a  Web  site  on the Internet  to  be in  contact  and  to  serve  the practical  educational  and  research  operation  and  to  diffuse and  spread  every  new coming  activity and program .
